A little bit about me

Hello, I'm Sarah Becker and I'm 16 years old. I have 2 rare types of Muscular Dystrophy so im in a wheelchair but I'm still fully capable of taking care of your child. I have 6 years of experience. When I babysit I try to turn a lot of things into a learning experience such as teaching colors if they're coloring or teaching objects if they are playing with my doll house. There is also a park at the end of my neighborhood that I wouldn't mind taking them to if it's cool enough outside. I do have 2 big dogs but they are very friendly. I'm really into theater and singing as big hobbies. I am currently in voice lessons once a week and I'm in the National Thespian Society. I'm also really into psychology and I'm taking AP psychology this year.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I babysat 3 kids ages 2-8 for the past 3 summers. I have volunteered in the special education classrooms at my school since I was 8. I tutored kindergarten and 1st graders in 5th grade. I tutored my friends for about 3 years. I have taken early childhood education at school my freshman year.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing with dolls/dollhouse, going to the park at the end of my street, playing with chalk in my backyard, coloring, cutting paper, making crafts, watching movies and playing hide and seek.

The most important part of being a nanny is being able to form a strong relationship with your kids and they almost become family to you.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been helping in the special needs classrooms at my schools since I was 8 years old. They had developmental delays or physical delays. I also know how to use medical equipment like Epi Pens, breathing treatments, G-tubes and diabetic medical equipment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is whenever my kids get sad to leave my house because they want to stay with me longer. When I had to make a lesson plan for Early Childhood Education and I was able to do it with them. Whenever the youngest sat on my lap and didn't want to get off. Whenever my kids stay at my house overnight and they want to stay up as late as me because they want to play.
