I'm up for trying anything! At the child learning center I currently work at, my friend and I started a weekly tradition of STEM Club that the kids love. Children are so creative and need to be exposed to new things. Whether we're making paper airplanes or going on a leaf hunt, I do my best to keep kids engaged, active, and asking questions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is helping kids develop in all aspects of life. We're giving them the tools and love to succeed and learn to see the positives in a world that can be difficult.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with a third-grader while I was in high school who had some learning and behavioral challenges. At first, she didn't want to open up, but by the end of the year we were very close. I've found that having meaningful relationships with kids is the best way to make a difference, no matter what they may be facing. Consistency and showing up are game changers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
How to choose just one?! I love seeing the kids I'm working with play with other children. It's the best feeling to know that all the hard work is paying off when they're sharing, laughing, and bonding with people from all walks of life.
