More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a summer nanny for a time during the summer of 2020. In the summer of 2021, I worked as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom working with students with severe developmental and learning disabilities. In the summer of 2023, I worked as a preschool teacher at a summer school. In the [phone number hidden] school year, I worked as a student teacher where I was responsible for lesson planning and teaching a class of 19 third graders.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love integrating music into my childcare practice, this includes dance parties and karaoke! I also think that it is essential to foster of love of reading in kids of all ages, whether its reading aloud to younger kids or finding the perfect chapter book at the library for older kids. Any time that I can get kids off their screens and actually playing is a win for me!

The most important part about being a nanny is building relationships with the families you work with. You can plan the most creative activities ever, but they will only be fun if they are tailored to the children that you are caring for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked as a paraprofessional in a special education preschool classroom. These students had severe developmental disabilities and autism. In my student-teaching work, I worked with students with moderate learning disabilities on their reading and math skills as well as their social and emotional development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I started a "restaurant" with the children in my care. We worked together to make a menu of their favorite food, then I taught them to do age-appropriate cooking. It was so much fun, and they were able to have more independence throughout the summer when appropriate.
