I absolutely adore taking children on outings or “little field trips.” While we enjoy visiting parks, libraries provide numerous educational and social opportunities for children. Even on days when we can’t go out, we find creative ways to engage them. Scavenger hunts, sensory bins, and my favorite activity—music and movement—are all great options.

My previous nanny family once asked me to stay overnight with them. I made it a big deal with the kids. I decorated their bunk beds with glow sticks, which they absolutely loved. After dinner, we had made smores and went firefly catching. Every few months, my nanny kid would bring up that night and reminisce about how much they enjoyed it.
