My mom has been a preschool teacher for many years and I’ve learned so much from her as someone who constantly works with children. I’ve also spent 2 summers as well as my Sundays in volunteer positions as a small group leader for middle schoolers and kids in less fortunate areas.

I am a lover of anything outside and enjoy everything from walks to sports to just laying in the grass. I also love board games, crafts and anything that allows me to see kids flourish and use their imaginations and talents.

The most important thing to me in caring for children is allowing them to be themselves in a safe environment where they know that they are seen, known and loved by the people around them and helping them to recognize the joy that they bring to my world just because they are themselves.

I’m a person who loves having nicknames so one of my favorite memories of my time as a summer nanny was both of the kids unironically calling me Ms. Sarah Thomm for the entire summer even though I already knew the family, we were friends and I was only a high schooler, but it was endearing and funny.
