Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’m was a toddler teacher, former pre-k at a daycare. Throughout college, I was in several classrooms for my degree. I’ve seen several age groups. As an older sister, I watched my brother grow up and have also helped him develop. I started helping take care of him more when our dad passed away, so I have plenty of experience.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love working on crafts or coloring. I love to play with the kids and help their imagination. I try to make learning fun too, so I love implementing education through activities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I want to help a family help their children develop. Child development is my passion. If I can do something to positively impact children and help them grow, I feel like my life’s purpose is complete.
My experience with special needs children...
I have taken several courses throughout college for special education. I have worked with students and children with 504s and IEPs. One child that I have babysat had autism. Another child I have worked with has Down Syndrome. I am very comfortable working with all kids of different needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I really love bed time or nap routines. That time of the day is a great bonding experience. Rocking a child to sleep as their eyes grow weak is a sign of trust. Reading to the kids as they settle down is just one way I feel like I am creating trust. I love these moments.
