More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a parent educator for the foster system for a stint! This allowed me to teach parents who needed support in areas such as discipline, appropriate play, and recognizing the developmental needs of their children.
I also volunteered and at one point worked for a parachurch organization, Younglife, as well as YoungLives. This allowed me to support single teen moms in our community through childcare, meal preparation, and emotional support as they worked to graduate.
In middle school and high school, I worked for families in the summer to make extra money. This included meal prep, taking kids to sporting practices, homework, and planning activities while parents were at work.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love offering a variety of options for kids to see what they gravitate to! I love science, helping with early reading, outdoor-focused play, cooking, and sports. For younger kids, I love to teach hard skills, like confidence, preparing a plate of food, picking clothes out for the day, or even potty training.
Visiting museums, going on walks, or heading to the park are other activities I enjoy, especially with multiple children.

The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me most about being a nanny is building kids' confidence. I think that kids of all ages and stages are capable of some impressive stuff, but we often do not give them the tools to explore because of our own lack of knowledge or apprehension. I love to safely offer moments that kids can learn about the world around them, and what they are capable of doing. Not only have I seen these opportunities transform kids, but parents, too!
My experience with special needs children...
Yes! In high school, I worked in the special education department. This allowed me to tutor as well as coach special education sports. I have also nannied for a few families with kids that had additional needs, whether behavioral or physical -- such as ADHD/ADD, vision and behavioral needs, and a few children in the foster care system that had been diagnosed with PTSD, Schizophrenia, and DID.
The most important part about being a nanny...
This was a very difficult moment, but it lent itself to a very sweet outcome. I had a 2 year old that unknowingly had a severe cashew allergy. I was taking him to the lake for the day and gave him a bite of a granola bar. He started experiencing severe symptoms within minutes of his initial bite, and unfortunately, we did not have cell phone service. I called 911 and knew that an operator could ping my call even if they couldn't hear me, and thankfully, shortly after, I ended up finding a construction site nearby that was able to call 911 and tell them what was going on. We were rushed to the hospital, we met with his parents, and after he was given EPI and had relaxed, he gave me the biggest hug and asked me if we could still play that day. The relief of him being okay, and just wanting to play, put everything scary in perspective.

I am a single mother myself who has experienced how difficult it is to manage work and your kid in these busy times where it seems like you can never get a break! A little help when needing to take a work call or have a business meeting for work can make such a big difference, so take it from a woman who understands the importance of maintaining a balance between family life knowing your child is cared for and being nurtured with a positive atmosphere; to work in peace knowing your child is safe . I am a mother who enjoys having fun while maintaining structure. My mother was a teacher so growing up we were always learning. I have a balance of old and new school parenting because growing up my parents were in their 50’s already along side my era of parenting now in my 30’s, I was also adopted so I can validate and relate to families who also have children that are adopted find comfort in knowing home is where the heart is. Family is what matters the most ❤️
