The most important part about being a nanny...
Is when the kids have genuine fun in whatever activity we’re doing especially if it’s something they haven’t done or were hesitant to do. A specific memory is when my family who I’m currently working for, they were getting frustrated working on an art project and they got frustrated and threw the project on the floor but instead of doing it for them we talked and I listened through his frustrations and we went back to working on the project and worked on the steps step by step and I had him take breathes and not over think it cause I know he was getting stressed out and at the end of it he was so proud he did it himself and it sits on his night stand every night and his mom said “it was quiet amazing he pushed though and came back to it cause that’s usually not like him” and then she thanked me for giving him the time to feel and express his emotion instead of just walking away or surprising it so that will always be a story that makes me smile
