I was a bison buddy mentor where I mentored and helped multiple kids from an after school care program. I helped them with homework, and activities. We also had fun days where we would have different events for the kids so they could enjoy being kids.

I love doing arts and crafts and now a days I’ve made a lot of slime and homemade lip gloss along with outdoor sports and activities to keep the kids engaged and having fun depending on the season and weather.

Making sure the kids feel safe and comfortable. Also making sure the parents trust me and showing them with my actions that their kid or kids are in good hands and I would treat them like family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment with a kid that connected with me and ended up looking up to me was around Christmas time. She was 8 years old and didn’t think she needed to make a Christmas list because she knew her families finances were struggling and believe me kids know. I told her to make one anyway because Santa could surprise her cause she was great that year and good behavior should be rewarded. She was a great kid and even though I was a college student with low funds I made sure I raised some money and got her two things on her list. When she heard her name being called for the kids that received presents she lit up and that smile warmed my heart. Her mother even cried and thanked me because she knew how much that meant to her daughter. I love making people’s day and making them feel happy because that’s what it’s all about caring for others.
