Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Dance and singing parties. All activities depend on age. Building with blocks, coloring, painting, and playing with any "ball" (basketball, bouncy ball, play balls) I love reading and doing anything concerning school and academics. I loved helping kids learn to read, reading to sleep, helping them pronounce and get more involved in the world of reading. I also listen to music with kids and immerse them in different genres. Anything to keep a kid active and engaged is what I do.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is realizing and being aware of the child's needs and wants. A child needs to be carefully watched and taken care of. Another important note is that the child's actions and achievements need to be communicated with the parent/guardian. A child, especially in summer needs to be carefully monitored. Watching the heat and everything surrounding it. Sunscreen, sunburn if occured, water intake, headache, not to over work him/her. If a child wants to do something, like watch a movie or go outside, then give options and be open.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One day, my girl Care and I went to Walmart and we walked up and down the aisles. She sat in her seat when grocery shopping but played and got more excited around the toys and books. We read some books in the store and then drove to Dutch Bros. I am a regular there, and they soon got to know Care. She got a sugar-free peach black tea and I got an iced coffee. After, we went to Fratellis and shared a slice of cheese. Then we went to a park and played softball. Over the months she has gotten better and I've been teaching her a little more every time.
