A little bit about me

I love working with and caring for children. A graduate of Churchill School in New York, I attended Hunter College but am taking a break to decide exactly what I want to study. I have three years experience working as an after school and support teacher at a Montessori School. My duties included running the after school program for my assigned age group; planning, implementing, and monitoring a wide range of after school activities; providing emotional support for children; helping them with their homework, and many other school-related tasks. I am CPR, Pediatric First Aid, and AED trained. I love reading, writing, drawing, cats, and spending time outside. I am currently learning to speak Italian.

My experience with special needs children...

I attended a school for children
with learning disabilities. While I did very well academically, I understand what it is like to struggle with math and reading. I am, therefore, very patient and understanding with children who have similar struggles.

I don't, however, have specific training working with children who have Special Needs.
