Hi! My name is Selena, I have a bachelors degree in anthropology and I'm currently working as an anthropologist/archaeologist after I graduated, but I have had recent longing to start getting back into childcare. I was a nanny in college for a family that had two boys. When I started with them in 2019, the eldest was 3 and the younger wasn't born yet but I built a strong relationship with the family. I'm a hard worker and can sometimes be a no-nonsense type of person depending on the situation. I also love doing crafts, making music, dancing, reading any activity I can think of to engage with kids minds and keep them active so there is less time spent on electronics.

I was an aid in high school at my old elementary school, I have had a plethora of babysitting gigs, and was an aid for a doctor's kids briefly.

Parent's work hard, their job is never ending. So if I can help in any way to not only take some weight off the parents, but to also give the child/children a form of one-on-one care that is in a safe environment with fun and learning aspects without the hecticness of a day care, I will.

My experience with special needs children...

My brother was special needs/disabled and needed round the clock care and I would help where I could. My cousin has Asperger's and I helped out a lot with him growing up as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the sweet moments I'll never forget is when I was nannying two boys, and the youngest loved Lightning Mcqueen and would get so excited for us to watch the Cars movie at the end of the week, every week. He would run around the house yelling 'yightning!' because he couldn't pronounce his L's.
