More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My childcare experience began at a children’s museum, where I discovered my passion for creating engaging and meaningful experiences for children. Since then, I have continued building my experience through roles as a swim instructor, Registered Behavioral Technician, and full-time nanny/family assistant. I have worked with children of various ages, including supporting developmental needs, creating structured routines, planning activities, and providing safe, nurturing care tailored to each child.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of my favorite activities to do with children include nature walks and outdoor exploration, where we can learn about plants, animals, insects, and the world around us. I love incorporating ABC nature walks, scavenger hunts, sensory activities, and hands-on learning experiences.

I also enjoy creative activities like arts and crafts, DIY projects, painting, and encouraging children to use their imagination. For brain-stimulating activities, I love puzzles, games, reading, building activities, science experiments, and activities that support problem-solving and curiosity.

I enjoy staying active with children through swimming, outdoor adventures, playground trips, and anything that allows them to explore and be creative. I try to encourage limited screen time when possible and focus on meaningful, engaging activities (unless a parent prefers otherwise).

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting and positive relationship with both the children and the family. A nanny becomes an important part of a child’s everyday life, and I believe in creating a safe, supportive, and loving environment where children feel seen, heard, and encouraged to be themselves.

I value patience, communication, consistency, and understanding that every child has their own personality and needs. My goal is to support families by providing dependable care while helping children learn, grow, explore, and create meaningful memories.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs through my time as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), where I supported children with developmental differences, including autism. I have provided individualized support focused on communication, social skills, emotional regulation, independence, and daily routines.

I understand that every child is unique and requires patience, consistency, and a personalized approach. I enjoy creating a supportive environment where children feel comfortable, confident, and encouraged to grow while celebrating their individual strengths.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There were two little girls i babysat for the summer for 2023 that wanted to have a ‘girls’ day and we had a ball. They first started with a fashion show of course , then we moved to the pool to play mermaid, and ended the night playing with barbie’s and watching the bratz movie. I really enjoyed it cause it brought me back to a piece of my childhood. It was so heartwarming to see how much fun they had and it eventually became a norm when i started going over regularly.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in San Diego, CA: Mary C.

Hi! I just moved to the San Diego area from the east coast! In the past I've worked as a nanny and a substitute teacher! I love working with kids and I am the oldest of 5, so I'm very used to a loud and noisy household. I do have a bachelor's degree from Penn State University. I'm very comfortable with kids of all ages, even infants. I do have cats so I'm also comfortable with pets, and I don't mind doing some dog walking, if needed. I'm terrible at filling out descriptions on my self, so I'm more than welcome to answer any questions you may have about my experience or my availability! Currently, I'm looking to find something part-time or full-time during the day, with possible weeknight or weekend availability if you just need a night out! Good luck in your search!
