A little bit about me

My name is Shannon. I have worked with children from the age of 1 all the way up to teenagers for around 7 years now. I started out simple by babysitting my cousins. I did homework help after getting them off the bus, made them a snack/dinner and helped them get to after school events. My first official childcare experience was in a licensed daycare center where I worked as the lead toddler teacher. In this role I planned crafts, potty trained children, facilitated appropriate play for children aged 2-3, and ensured a safe environment for them. I also assisted with planning a Christmas play for this age group while I was there.

Following that position, I transitioned in to the public school system as a teachers assistant here I worked with children with special needs and those in the specific pre-k program. As a special education assistant I worked with children of all ages and intellectual and physical disabilities.
