Have been a nanny for infants through age 5. Taught school (pre-school and middle school) and tutored (pre-school through high school) for over 15 years. Been in child care for over 12 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to spend time outdoors at parks, riding bikes, going on nature walks, digging for dino bones, etc. I also love to do crafty things like making Christmas ornaments, drawing dinosaurs and horses, making paper airplanes, making paper dolls, etc. Baking muffins, singing, dancing, coloring, reading, etc., are also great ways to engage children in stimulating experiences.

What matters to me most about being a nanny is always making the child's (children's) physical and emotional well-being a priority. Under that umbrella, it's about fun, engendering their self-confidence, exposure to new activities, learning through experience, developing social skills without hindering their own discovery of self, and encouraging emotional growth.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with kiddos with Cerebral Palsy, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, Asperger's Syndrome, those on the Autism Spectrum, and those exhibiting emotional disorders.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Playing music and dancing with kids are great moments I will always cherish! Also building forts inside and out, digging for dinosaur bones, and finding a beautiful spider web that may have been made by a golden orb spider.
