Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading to children and watching the story come to life for them through the use of different voices, and props such as puppets and stuffed animals. I enjoy doing hands-on investigations to create and spark questioning and learning. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child of any age make observations and then share these thoughts to help them understand the world around them.
I am a physically fit person who enjoys almost any indoor or outdoor sport. I enjoy playing basketball, baseball, pickleball, swimming, hiking, and honestly anything that gets the body moving. Being active is an essential key to my happiness.

The most important part about being a nanny is making personal connections with the child as well as the family. If the child feels comfortable and safe during my time of care than I have done my job successfully.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with students with Autism, ADHD, oppositional defiance as well as children with speech disorders. My numerous years in the classroom has given me the opportunity to work with children with a multitude of diagnosis and disorders. The most important thing to remember is diversity. Every child has different needs and it is my job as a caregiver to make sure these needs are met.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The sweetest moment I remember is when I was a nanny to a brother and sister they would spend a great deal of time arguing with each other. I created a community project for them to work on together and they were successful and they did not argue the entire time. It was so nice to see these two teenagers work together for a common goal. They learned a great deal about respect and honesty throughout this learning project.
