More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently work as a full-time nanny caring for two young children and supporting their daily routines, meals, naps, learning, play, and development. Caring for children at two different developmental stages has strengthened my ability to balance individual needs while providing consistent and attentive care. My previous experience includes babysitting for families, volunteering in my church nursery, working with children at the Boys & Girls Club, and completing multiple internships and fieldwork placements in childcare centers and home-based programs. Through these experiences, I have worked with children from infancy through school age and learned how to adapt my care to each child’s age, personality, and developmental needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy creating activities that allow children to learn while still having fun (learning through play)! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, sensory play, reading, music, outdoor play, imaginative play, and age-appropriate learning games. In my current nanny position, I also plan hands-on activities that introduce concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes, colors, language, and early problem-solving skills. I enjoy incorporating fine and gross motor development into everyday play and adapting activities as children grow and reach new milestones. I love finding creative ways to turn everyday moments into opportunities for exploration, learning, and connection.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, nurturing and consistent environment where children feel secure enough to learn, explore, and be themselves. I believe in meeting children where they are developmentally while encouraging their growth, independence, and confidence. Building trust with both the children and their parents is also extremely important to me. I value open communication, consistency, patience, and respecting each family’s individual needs and parenting style. My goal is for parents to feel confident knowing their children are not only safe and well cared for, but genuinely loved, supported, and encouraged throughout the day.
My experience with special needs children...
While I haven’t had extensive hands-on experience, I do have knowledge from my Child Development and Family Studies courses that focused on working with children and individuals with special needs. I also had the opportunity to serve at my church, where I worked with a middle school girl who had special needs. That experience taught me the importance of patience, making activity modifications when needed, and most of all, treating every child with the same love, respect, and dignity as their peers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of being a nanny has been watching the children I care for grow and reach new milestones. In my current position, I have been able to see so much development in both children, from new physical milestones and growing independence to expanding language and learning new concepts. It is especially rewarding when something we have practiced during an activity shows up later in everyday life and I realize they truly remembered and understood it. Those little moments remind me how meaningful it is to be a consistent part of a child’s life and to have the opportunity to support their learning and development along the way.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Severn, MD: Jaime B.
Hi! My name is Jaime. I have been around infants, toddlers, and school-aged children for most of my life. My mom had an in-home daycare that she started when I was 10 years old. I spent a lot of time facilitating age-appropriate learning and free play, assisting with potty training, providing a routine, and also assisting with snack and lunchtime. So many of the children and their families have become a part of our family and we still see them today. Also, I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I taught 6th grade for 6 years and Special Education (Grades 7-12) for one year. I am First Aid and CPR certified, and I also know how to administer an EPI pen. I left teaching for a job in the government, but have decided to try to go back to doing what I truly love - I love working with and supporting children, helping them to learn and grow. I think it's one of the most rewarding things a person can do!
