A little bit about me

I grew up with a mom who was a preschool teacher. I will go to her work after school or days closed and she would have me help out. I took child development 1-3 in high school and did an internship at the elementary school working with kids who had any difficulties or disabilities and loved it. I went on to work with the elderly and decided after a few years that I wanted to work with kids. I started at a church daycare working as an assistant while going to FCC fast track early childhood education which means I did 2 years all in 1 year to get my certification. I then began working for the same daycare company my mom did before she passed. I was a teacher of the 2 year old class but in afternoons we merged the 2’s and toddlers together and I was the head teacher. I have worked with infants through elementary school ages. I recently went through a divorce and I’m looking for something part time to help with some extra money.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During high school I took child development 1,2,&3. I completed 1 full year of internship at the elementary working with the special education program which I absolutely loved being apart of. I started as a daycare aide while going to college to complete my early childhood education degree. After completing college I moved on to become a teacher and run my own classroom until the school/childcare center I worked for closed down several years later. I then took a leave from child care to help run my own family business, got married and eventually became a full time care giver for a family member. I’ve had some major life changes over the last 7 years and have been helping with children again. I grew up watching my mom working with children which got me involved at a very young age which is where my passion has always come from.

I enjoy doing outdoor activities with children as well as art, and fun learning.
I enjoy using reading and music to help a child with learning and growing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love the fact that each day I get to be a part of each child’s story. Helping them to learn and develop as they grow. It’s also rewarding to feel the unconditional love a child has for you as someone who is there day in day out the help them and teach them.

My favorite moment, I would have to say is when I was teaching is getting that one on one moment with the kids and reading with me or doing art work with them
