My name is Sienna Mills, and I’m a senior at Orchard Park High School. I’m the middle child of five, which has taught me to be patient, caring, and comfortable around different personalities. I work as a lifeguard and camp counselor for Orchard Park Recreation. As a lifeguard, I’m always alert and make safety my priority. As a camp counselor, I’ve learned how to keep kids safe, engaged, and having fun. I’m also a captain of both my varsity tennis and varsity basketball teams. I love sports, being active, and spending time outside, so I’d love to play sports, games, and do activities with the kids I care for. I want to be involved. I have good grades and I’m in Honor Society, so I can also help with homework or assignments. I have three cats, two dogs, fish, and a lizard, so I’m comfortable caring for pets too. I’m responsible, dependable, energetic, and caring, and my goal is for every child to feel safe, happy, and excited to spend time with me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently work as a lifeguard and camp counselor for Orchard Park Recreation, where I regularly supervise and care for children. As a camp counselor, I lead activities, keep children engaged, and make sure they are safe while having fun. As a lifeguard, I’m trained to stay alert and make safety a priority. I also have experience teaching swim lessons to children, which has helped me learn how to communicate with kids of different ages and abilities. Growing up with four siblings has also given me plenty of experience being around and caring for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy being active and doing a variety of activities with children. I love playing sports, going outside, playing games, going for walks, doing arts and crafts, and finding fun activities that keep them entertained and engaged. I also enjoy helping with homework, reading, and letting the kids choose activities they are interested in. I like making sure the kids are having fun while also keeping them safe.

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I think it’s important to be responsible and dependable, but also to have fun, be patient, and build a good relationship with the kids. I want them to feel like they can be themselves around me while still knowing that I’m there to look out for them and keep them safe. I also really look forward to building a good relationship with your family and being someone you can trust and rely on. I’m always happy to help out whenever I can!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs through volunteering with the High Five organization in Buffalo, teaching swim lessons, and coaching Unified Sports. These experiences have helped me become more patient, understanding, and flexible when working with children with different needs and abilities. I enjoy making sure every child feels included, comfortable, supported, and able to participate in activities in a way that works best for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nannying moments was when I was babysitting this little girl and we spent the day making bead bracelets, and she decided to give me a full hair makeover. She braided my hair, put beads in it, and honestly had me looking like I was ready for a music video. After that, we spent the rest of the time doing gymnastics and having the best time. It was definitely one of those days where I went home exhausted, but with a new hairstyle and a lot of funny memories!
