More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began my caregiving journey in high school as a sunday school teacher and eventually accepted a position as an assistant teacher at a daycare. After graduating high school, I moved from Virginia to Texas and began a service industry job. While I enjoyed working closely with coworkers and assisting customers, I missed working with children. That experience lead me to my true calling as a nanny. Nearly 6 years in, I could not imagine a more fulfilling or rewarding career.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to parks, building tree houses and fairy gardens, gardening, tossing around a football, golfing, going to museums and other educational facilities, drawing and painting- anything creative!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part is meeting the children’s emotional needs so that they can grow into healthy adults! It is important to me to model good behavior and demonstrate/teach emotional regulation. I have seen my charges grow into amazing and incredibly kind people and I hold a lot of respect for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A child I was nannying had called me out for overstepping a boundary- they were right! I was very proud that the child felt safe and comfortable enough to discuss it with me. I took a moment to reflect and thanked the child for being honest about how they had felt disrespected by my actions. We talked it out our bond has never been stronger :)
