A little bit about me

Hi there!
My name is Skyaira, and I’m a 21-year-old caregiver from Cleveland, Ohio. I’m deeply passionate about children, and I believe in loving and serving others the way Jesus did—with compassion, patience, and joy. I have experience working in daycare centers as an assistant teacher for all ages but mostly infants and toddlers also 1 year experience with nannying. I’ve also served as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), caring for the elderly with gentleness and respect. My heart is especially drawn to creating nurturing, Christ-centered environments where children can grow, feel safe, and be reminded of God’s love. One of my biggest dreams is to one day open my own biblical in home infant daycare where children will be cared for, but also learn about the love and truth of Jesus in simple, meaningful ways. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, singing, writing, traveling, and spending quiet moments with God. I look forward to serving families with warmth, integrity, and faith.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been caring for children since the age of 9, starting with babysitting for my older siblings and their friend’s children. By 14, I was placed in a camp where my natural connection with kids stood out so much, I was invited to return as a worker the very next year. Since then, I’ve continued developing my skills through both personal and professional experiences, including over three years as an assistant teacher and floater in daycare settings

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending quality time with kids and creating joyful, meaningful experiences that help them feel seen, heard, and loved. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, reading books together, singing songs, writing stories, imaginative play, nature walks, and light sports or movement games. I also enjoy cooking simple meals or snacks with children when appropriate—it’s a great opportunity for bonding and learning! I’m passionate about encouraging creativity, emotional intelligence, and spiritual growth (if welcomed), including moments of reflection, gratitude, or singing about God’s love. I’m happy to adjust to whatever schedule or routines are important to your family and always aim to support your child’s development and joy in a gentle, fun, and safe way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a nanny is the ability to relieve stress for parents while being a steady, loving presence for their child. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, wanted, and deeply loved—because when those basic emotional needs are met, it shapes their development in powerful ways. Not every child receives this at home, and that reality pushes me to give even more. Whether it’s encouraging a milestone, offering a comforting hug, or simply being present, I want every child to know they matter. I see this role not just as childcare, but as soul care. The early years are sacred, and if I can speak life, build trust, and bring joy to even one little heart, then I’ve done something that echoes beyond the job. It’s a divine honor to be part of shaping someone’s foundation with patience, kindness, and Christ-like love.

My experience with special needs children...

Although I haven’t formally worked with children who have been diagnosed with special needs, I have had the blessing of caring for children who needed extra emotional, sensory, or behavioral support. I welcomed them with gentleness, never labeling them, but seeing them through the eyes of Christ worthy of love, patience, and understanding. I treated each child the way I would want to be treated, and more importantly, the way Jesus would treat them with compassion, attentiveness, and grace. In my care, I created an environment that nurtured peace and belonging. I used sensory tools, soft music, reading, circles time, calming colors, and quiet spaces where children could express themselves safely. Activities like coloring, storytelling, and guided play weren’t just fun they were healing. I paid attention to each child’s unique needs and rhythms, making sure they felt seen, heard, and supported. My approach has always been rooted in love and consistency.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when a baby I cared for said “mama” for the first time. Her mother cried, and I did too. There’s something holy about witnessing a child’s first words, first steps, or even just a moment of comfort when they choose you to rest on. I’ve helped children adjust to new siblings, teething pain, and the ache of separation anxiety things small in the world’s eyes but big in a child’s heart. In those moments, I don’t just show up as a nanny I show up as love. I whisper affirmations, pray silently over them, and remind them through action that they are safe, seen, and supported. It’s not just a job to me it’s a ministry. And when a parent says, “I feel so much peace knowing you’re with my child,” that’s when I know I’ve done my job right not just as a caretaker, but as a vessel of God’s love.
