More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked in before and after school daycares, children centers and as a nanny and sometimes picking up babysitting jobs as well! At the centers I would switch from class to class working with ages 6months to 6years. I did end up running my own 2 year old with 7 two year olds all on my own. I learned so much about potty training and handling a large amount of kiddos and their needs throughout the day. It was some of the most fulfilling work I have done. And being a nanny allows me to have more one on one with kiddos and really make sure that I can have a positive impact on their life and well being.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts are a big thing that I love to do with children! If it involves exploring outside, even better! I find getting out bodies moving is very important. As well as giving children opportunities to be loud and enjoy learning the abilities of the voice and movements! I find days to be best when the child is having fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Listening and learning with the children. I am a strong believer in the idea that everyone is still learning. There is never a moment when we stop learning or experiencing new things. Being able to learn with them and explore their interests and encourage their minds and bodies is very important to me.
I also find it important to build a good relationship with the family as a whole. You spend so much time with the children, you become family to them. And I think most Nannie’s would agree that the kiddos feel like family to us as well. It is the best feeling to know that those kiddos lives have been affected by your presence.

My experience with special needs children...
I have a little brother that we adopted when I was 11 and he was a newborn. I took on most responsibilities taking care of him as we grew up and he was diagnosed with adhd and Autism. I have since worked with many children that were labeled the ‘difficult kids’ and found that they were always my favorite! Not that all had special needs but some just needed things explained or demonstrated in different ways. And I love learning their needs and how to best help them! I am also earning my bachelors in psychology focusing on child and adolescents.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I tell my kiddos every day how much they are loved and cared for. I remind them to put good into the world and that they will get it back if they do. I let them know that I am a safe space and safe person to open up to. My best moments have always been when a child first chooses to open up about their feelings and I am able to help support them. This tells me that there is a strong line of trust and that I have done my job as a nanny and as someone in the child’s life.
