Hello, my name is Sophia and I have been a nanny or a babysitter for about past five years now. Although I have a huge family filled with kids of every age, so I have been taking care of kids for as long as I can remember! Activities I enjoy doing with children...

As I am very active, I love playing outside with the kids I watch. It could be playing a sport, a game, or making our own activity. I am very creative, so I also enjoy any craft or project. Although my favorite part of watching kids is just talking with them, as I noticed most of the time they just want to tell stories and talk about their interests!

The most important part about being a nanny...

From my experience, one of the most important parts of being a nanny is being able to be both personal and professional. As a nanny, my number one priority is always that the child or children I am watching are safe and happy. The job is obviously more personal than others. I come from a very close family and reflect on the way my family cares so well for each other with the children I watch. I also understand it is a paid job, in which it is important to be on time and have responsibilities that need to be done.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with learning disabilities and attention issues. I myself have ADHD and have experience with how to help, both through personal methods and those I was taught for learning. I grew up with an older brother with Spina Bifida, so understand the patience and extra effort needed in everyday life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is hard to pinpoint one favorite moment as a nanny because I really love the position itself. My favorite part of watching the two boys, around 7 and 9, was watching them grow into their own people (as crazy as that sounds)! I watched them for a very long time, and when they were maturing very quickly, so I loved being able to see them discover things they were interested in and learn on their own. My most recent nanny position was for a family with the sweetest two-year-old and a boy about to be in high school. My favorite moment with the two-year-old would be when she finally went into ballet all by herself without crying. I took her every week and we were consistent with her being more outgoing, so I was very proud.
