Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I began my journey working with children by volunteering at a preschool one summer when I was younger and it was such a rewarding experience! After that, I enjoyed being a camp counselor for a few summers. Now, I’m working at an Elementary school in the afterschool program for Kindergarteners. Before this, I worked at the YMCA and LA Fitness childcare center.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy keeping kids busy in fun, relaxed ways that still support their development. I love doing monthly themed crafts and science experiments. I also enjoy getting outside when we can, going on walks, playing at the park, or finding a fun kid-friendly activity. I’m big on following the child’s interests and needs, whether that’s music, puzzles, sensory activities, or quiet play. I like creating a good balance between structured activities and free play so kids feel comfortable, engaged, and free to be themselves while still having a routine. I’m also available for homework help or teach basic ASL signs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe environment where children feel understood and safe. I believe being patient, attentive, and consistent is just as important.
