More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am the youngest out of 15 cousins, so everyone started having kids while I was in middle school. I soon became the go-to babysitter (mostly because I didn't make them pay me). I am very well versed in diapering, feedings (solids and bottle), and developmentally and age appropriate activity. I watched the kids well into toddler and childhood so I became familiar with potty training, nap times, etc, early on as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
A part of my job was leading educational and developmental activities of all sorts. Everyday was something new, so I have a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities stored in my brain. I am big on getting the kids outside, and don't mind them getting their hands dirty. I am a great cleaner anyhow! For my more indoorsy kiddos, I'm a big fan of doing art/science projects, having dance parties, playing with games/toys, building forts, I like whatever they like really. I try to make sure anything I suggest for a child is something they would enjoy doing too.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children of all different abilities. Last year I had some preschool friends in my class that gave me the push I needed to learn even more about specifically autism and down syndrome, and I was able to give those kiddos the tools they needed in order to succeed!
