The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure I care for these babies as if they were my own. The same way I cut up food, dress them, show affection, create a life of variety, do nap time, and alert the parents if anything changes through the day is very important to me. The way I would want my kids loved and protected is how I do my job.
My experience with special needs children...
I have little to no experience, my daughter has autism and we are learning a new but also sort of similar way of life since shes gotten her diagnosis. Im learning just as she is.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I nannied for a family with a 2 year old boy, he had his many quirks and funny moments but my favorite was when we were out together at the zoo and splash pad. He had just been diagnosed autistic shortly before my daughter. He had little to no interest in water play or making messes, but before it was time to go we both made it in the water and splashing. A big win for his mom and dad, himself, but also me! It takes alot for kids to let their barriers down!
