Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have cared for my two younger siblings. My brother was a newborn at the time and my sister was 4 years old. I still take care of them today when I am home from college. I have also occasionally babysat for different families with children ages 4-10.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy going on walks or playing at the park. I try to limit screen time to really interact with the children. I like outdoor activities like sidewalk chalk or water balloons in the summer. I also enjoy indoor actives like helping them draw a picture or just playing with toys.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part for me is making sure the children are comfortable with me as well as the parents. When the children are comfortable we tend to have the most fun. I want the children and parents to be able to trust me when I am with them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have only had experience with special needs children in a high school setting. I took a class at Shakopee High School that allowed me to work directly with students with special needs. I made some of my best memories in this class and really enjoyed it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love whenever I ask the kids questions and they give me the truth. Sometimes they can be very humbling.
