My nephew whom I live with is about to turn 3! I’ve learned so much with having him around me full time. I’ve nannied for various families through covid with remote learning- that was a challenge- it made me understand a lot more about how children learn and retain information and stay focused.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As much as possible outside! Building forts, anything creative with the hands. I love coaching in sports of their choice, as I played many growing up. I love to go to the beach and swim, and play water games.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a mentor, and guiding children while having there trust. It’s important to care for them but to also be someone they look up to, and to show them a perspective of someone else.
My experience with special needs children...
Extensive. In high school, I worked with the special needs students every Friday and taught science, and was able to create a club around it. Now, I’ve just finished 4 months with caring for a non verbal adult man with down syndrome. We were able to create some awesome breakthroughs.
