More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am third in a family of five children where I often cared for my two younger brothers. Being a part of a big family has really shaped my love of children and having positive impacts on their lives. I began working in childcare at a preschool when I was 18 years old and fell in love with it! Working with children and helping them meet their goals and express their creativity has been an extremely rewarding path for me. After about a year there, I moved into nannying and was fortunate enough to land a position in Sydney, Australia! I nannied two wonderful girls and absolutely loved being a part of their day to day routines. I enjoy creating mind stimulating crafts and projects for the kids to participate in and I love taking them on nature walks! Childcare has become a huge part of my life and I am excited to continue to provide the best care to the children I am caring for.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love sharing my passion for arts and crafts and often find myself immersed in painting, drawing, crotchet, and many other fun and colorful activities! I also enjoy singing and love to include children in thoughtful play with music.
I like to bring interesting crafts that are seasonally appropriate to engage the children’s minds such as sensory bins, matching games, nature color walks, and bubbles!
I also really enjoy taking the kids to the park or to museums, and would not be opposed to nannying them at theme parks!

The most important part about being a nanny...

First and foremost the child’s wellbeing and physical health and safety is my top priority. I love to cook so making sure the kids have healthy and balanced meals with protein, veggies, fruits, and dairy to nourish their growing bodies (or providing them with their appropriate dietary needs or restrictions). My previous family had one little girl who couldn’t have dairy or gluten, so I was always mindful and educated about the foods she was able to have. Another important part is creating a safe and mentally stimulating environment where they can express themselves through play and creativity!

My experience with special needs children...

Aside from working privately as a nanny, I've also worked in two preschool/Montessori establishments where I was entrusted with care of infants up to kindergarten ages, special needs children were a part of these organizations and were placed in my care. I often cared for (such as brushing hair, cleaning, & changing diapers), fed, and played with children with special needs as a part of my job.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when there was a very rainy day in Australia and the kids were off from school. Together we made a cardboard house with markers and tape. The girls created such a masterpiece and were so excited for their parents to come home and see the hard work they put into the cardboard house! It’s moments like this that validate my career choice as I get to help kids express themselves in creative ways even when they are limited to what they can do, like if the weather changes!
