Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteer at the early child development center in Madison heights for children who are less fortunate and don’t have that family structure, I started volunteering there when I was 15 and usually slots fill up quick and I only get about 2 weeks of volunteering every summer ! It’s my favorite part of summer some kids I see year after year so bonds and friends grow and it’s overall amazing and has taught me so much and made so much more thankful for life it self and all it’s blessings !
The most important part about being a nanny...
Not just temporarily being there for your new family that your caring for but always when ur there ur doesn’t matter if it’s all day or a part of it or if your gonna be with them for months , years , days , hours , you be the same care giver you would at ur best for each and every one of them and let them know ur there because in all honesty that’s what we’re here for it’s support and every family has different areas of support they need help with , my thing is being the same person work within wise and how i treat my position with all family’s no matter what the employment length or the work load! Being a nanny is not just a job because what we do for our family’s goes long term mentally with the kids and they’re development is so fast and they grasp everything so everything counts !
My experience with special needs children...
My 20 year old cousin who we grew up side by side like sisters has autism and is nonverbal , she’s just like everyone else to me and we communicate in our own way and she’s taught me a lot about caring for anyone who needs a little more attention or needs ! Nobody’s normal we’re all our own people and have our own quirks , perks and struggles . We just were handing them differently and it’s all about educating yourself with what u need to know with whoever you surround yourself with whether it’s work , school , social life , family !
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is seeing my kids run off the bus or run towards me after school lol !! You never know what ur gonna get one day u could have a happy camper and the next u would think a stressed over worked 30 year old was coming off the bus home to u with how they look xD kids are funny and life is even funnier so I love sharing those moments with the family’s I work for !
