Hi! My name is Sophie, and I am so excited to meet you and your kiddos! I have 7+ years of experience working with children in both care and education settings as a nanny/babysitter, camp counselor and director, behavior interventionist, and special education ed tech III. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a camp counselor at a summer camp for 4 years before moving into the role of Director of Positive Behavior Interventions for another 3 years. I also worked as an Ed tech and 1-1 in a K-3 Functional Life Skills classroom. I have been a sitter, nanny, and remote learning support person off-and-on since high school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love outdoor play, reading (including interactive storytelling like story walks and dramatic play), arts and crafts, music, and dancing.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with ADHD, ODD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy, Global Developmental Delay, and Speech/Language Delay. I have worked as Special Education Ed Tech III in a Functional Life Skills classroom and as a Director of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports at a summer camp. I am passionate about collaborative care/support teams and plans and prioritize communication with the family. I use these experiences to help guide me, but I approach every new child with fresh eyes!
