A little bit about me

Hello families, my name is Stacey and I have 15+ years working with children of all different age groups and disabilities. I have worked closely with families in their homes caring for their children but also having worked with parents in a school environment while working as a teachers assistant. I have worked with newborn babes and right through to teenagers so I have a wide range of experience of ages in which I have worked with.
I am a very kind and caring person who is extremely passionate about caring for children. Having worked in the primary school environment for a number of years , I also had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children with special needs including children who had Autism, Down Syndrome, sight impairment, speech impairments, learning disabilities, behavioural difficulties and physical challenges. I enjoy the relationship I get to build with each child which allows me to have a positive impact on their day to day lives.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in a school for many years a a teachers aide working with children with a wide range of ages and disabilities for 8 years. I have also worked in a day care centre for new born up to 12 years old for 5 years. I am also a volunteer with Special Olympics and with City Missions of Findlay.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts, music, dancing, reading and outdoor time like bring the children to the playground. I also play sports myself so I like to play ball outdoors with he children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Communication is key qhen working with children. The parents and I need to be able to communicate so that we are on the same page so the child gets the care they need.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in a school setting working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Intelltual disabilities, ADHD, Visual Impaired and many more. I have a nephew with a disability which is why I love and care for all kids that I work with as family as it is close to my heart.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was working with a boy j was minding who had Autism for 1 5 years who was non verbal. We worked on his verbal communication through reading and songs. One day out of no where we were singing a song and he sang 3 words of the song. I was so happy and was bursting with pride
