I have experience being a paraprofessional for over 11 years in special education and general education. Before that I was a lead daycare teacher in both infant and toddler classrooms. I also have experience as a nanny as well. Both my previous families had two children. My first family had a one year old and 4 year old. The second family had twin boys. I was with these families for about 2 years each.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing sensory and art activities ( painting, sand, water, playdoh, etc.) I love taking children to parks and walking as well. Driving to the local library to do story times or parks. Reading and planning activities around a theme or book example Zoo or seasons.

Building a relationship with the family and open communication. Keeping the children safe and engaged with new and fun learning activities that change as the children grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with special needs and/or medically fragile children in the Owatonna School district for 8 years. I have worked with children who had a feeding tube, wheel chair bond and ASD/ DCD students. I have also worked with children who have had fetal alcohol syndrome and Downs syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Taking the twins on a walk and stopping in a park in the fall for a picnic lunch. They were about 10 months old at the time. I also had the twins finger paint with chocolate pudding.
