I have experience as a teaching assistant at my church and as a camp counselor! At the preschool I currently work at, I have implemented behavioral interventions, assisted with speech therapy sessions, and assisted disabled children with everyday tasks. It fills my heart with joy to walk into work and see the kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love picnics, where we can paint, play, and relax with music. I also love makeup, reading, singing/instruments, crafts, and crocheting! I try to teach as much as I can with educational videos or non-screen activities that reinforce letters, numbers, colors, etc. A fun learning environment is a happy one!
My experience with special needs children...
I work as an aide for a nonverbal three year old with behavior issues. I redirect him as much as I can without disciplining him, and I always enjoy our time together. I also work with another three year old who was born with an addiction and struggled walking due to issues with her hips. I hold her hand while she walks if she needs it, help her around the playground, and make sure she is able to participate in all the activities her classmates have at school that day.
