I started working as a nanny for the family 4 years ago, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I work with two children, Cate and Daniel ages 5 and 7. I implement and assist with their homework and school work into part of my daily routine with the children. I have made it a goal to help the children attain not only social and emotional growth but also educational. I provide a safe and clean environment by attending to light housework, and accommodating them with activities such as puzzles and drawing all the while, maintaining positive reinforcement and interaction between the children.
I had the opportunity to work as an assistant child care worker. I guided the children to recognize language development through storytelling and acting games, improving their social skills by working together to build a neighborhood in a sandbox, and small-group lessons which include the teaching of creative activities such as art, dance, and music. This all plays a vital role in preparing the children to build the skills that are necessary in school.
I currently have a Master's in Psychology which I obtained through hard work and dedication from The College of New Rochelle. During my full year internship in the Mineola School District, I worked with children from grades pre-k through 5th grade. My internships helped me to gain knowledge of the core skills necessary for in the developmental aspects of child development. I have insight and problem solving solutions for even the most stressful of situations.
I feel that my 6 years have provided me with a great amount of experience in guiding children's social and behavioral development. I am a dedicated young woman who possesses the required credentials, professionalism, enthusiasm, and motivation to excel in any environment. Thank you for taking the time to review my letter. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
