In August of 2009 I came to the United States as an Au Pair from Sweden. I lived with a family taking care of their 8-year-old twin boys. It was an amazing experience for me. I had a very close relationship with the twins, as we spent every day together. I know that I taught them a great deal, but I learned just as much from them. I drove the boys to and from school and all of their activities. Cooking was an important part of my job, and I did so everyday. Fortunately, I love to cook and have a degree in the culinary arts. Everything was made from scratch and I know that they loved my cooking. I tried to be as active as possible with the twins. We spent a great deal of time playing tennis and going for walks. When necessary I helped them with their homework. I had other responsibilities including cleaning and house sitting when the family went away. Sometimes I would join the family when they traveled, and was responsible for supervising the boys while on vacation. Shortly after my year as an Au Pair ended, I began working as a nanny for a family in Astoria. I took care of their 8-year-old daughter for 3-6 hours each weekday. I picked her up from school everyday and walked her home. We had some great conversations during those walks. Once home I arranged play dates, helped with her homework, and made dinner. In Sweden, I worked as a caregiver at the day care center in my home town for 4 years. I took care of children ranging in age from six months to six years. It was hard work but I genuinely felt that I had found my calling. Whenever someone was needed to read a story or just dig in the sandbox, I was always the first to volunteer. I currently work part time for a family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan taking care their one year old boy. The family is great but I am seeking a full time position and they are aware of this.

I come from a big family and since I was a little girl I’ve been volunteering to take care of my siblings, and relative’s children. I think the first diaper I changed was at age 6! I have a natural chemistry with children; I love them and them love me, so my experience began a long time ago. Professionally, my journey as a care giver began on January 2008; that’s when I decided to become an Au Pair and come to the USA. My program lasted for 2 years and it was a wonderful experience. I took care of a family of four siblings for my first year, with ages from 5 (twins) to 12. It was very hectic since I was responsible for them since wake up until bed time. Neighbor’s children were always around as well, so I can say it was a “full house”:) Another challenge was that some of the kids had medical conditions, so I was responsible for medication as well. On my second year I took care of babies, 3, 4 and 6 year-old children. After the end of my Au Pair program, I’ve been working as a nanny for the past two years and a half. I take care of a 7 year-old boy and a 9 year-old girl. I love this family very much, and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye. I also do a lot of babysitting, we live in a gated community and I watch a lot of children. I’ve became friends with many families and sometimes the moms and I go out together. During this last 5 years, I learned a lot, I had amazing experiences- and difficult ones too. I can firmly say I know A LOT about children! I consider myself a super nanny :) It might seem a little pretentious but I’m good at what I do!

= Since July 2013 until June 2014, I had the pleasure to care of twins. They were 2 weeks old when I started. I worked 10 hours a day during the week, by myself. I took care of all aspects of their caring during their first year. That included their feeding, sleeping schedule, entertainment, etc. The parents trusted me with the decisions about schedules, changes in them, and the caring in general and I would, of course, communicate and check with them always every step. By the end of June, they are all going on vacations and after, as planned, they will start daycare. = In 2013 I had the opportunity to take a job living in where I took care of Mary. She was 93 by the time and I certainly learned a lot with her. = In 2011, I took care of twins for the first time, as a live in nanny in Long Island, since they were 3 month until they were 10 month old (they were on a schedule). I fed them, entertained and put them to sleep by myself. = Since 2008 until 2011, for two years and a half, I worked as a live out Nanny in Midtown Manhattan. I took care of a boy, Max, since he was 8 month old until he was 3 and half years old. I used to entertain him (not including TV all the time!), take him to the park (the "big slide" was the favorite), playgrounds, go for walks when we included in games different kind of trees, flowers, animals in the zoo. We used to read at home or at the library, galleries, play "pirates", "the princess and the dragon", paint, listen to music, a lot of music. I also did light housekeeping, putting the toys back to the boxes, vacuum and generally to keep his areas neat and clean. I cooked some meals for him.

I have baby sat for family and friends through out the years. My most recent nanny job was with the same family taking care of a little girl from the age of 7-12 after school, picking her up in my car, taking her to lessons and working on homework and test prep. In the summers when she wasn't in camp I would go to her house from 10am when her mother left for work until her parents returned at around 5:30/6pm. During the day we would work on different creative projects and summer reading. When she was in camp I would pick her up in the afternoon and take her to her swimming lessons. I have also cared for multiple younger children, infants and toddlers, with up to three in my care at once. in the summers often taking them to play dates in parks, at the beach, or pools.

Hi there! I just recently graduated from Wagner College and I am now living in Astoria. I love children, I think it is very important for children to have a positive role model in life, someone they can trust and also have fun with. I love sports and the outdoors, but I also love theatre and the arts. I am very open to trying new things and usually have no problem in finding something fun to do/play. For the past 4 years I was the Director of Theater at a summer arts camp, leading games, teaching classes, and directing plays for children ages 4-16. On top of my camp experience, I coached U12 girls softball for 3 years. My team won the championship 2 out of those 3 years! :) I have been babysitting/nannying children for 9 years now and I am CPR/First Aid certified. I am extremely organized and a very hard worker, I love meeting new people and will fit in with almost any family!
