Being patient, telling the truth, because aware of the child's and yours surroundings. Be calm but stern if need to be to provide safety for the child and their environment the child and I are in. Being able to laugh and willing to understand.

When I offered to babysit a neighbor of mine when I was 15 and the child was 8-9 they told a of a chicken joke while we were playing connect ford and I busted out laughing and the parents showed up. It was nice to see everyone smiling and that the son felt comfortable and that I took ease of the parents and still was able to do school work.
