A little bit about me

I have taken care of the children in my family for over 12 years now. This includes two younger sisters and a younger brother, along with 10 younger cousins. Most
everyone in my family has larger dogs or cats as well so I am very comfortable with and love animals. I spent many years in high school and under-grad babysitting for various families, and from 2020 to 2021 I nannied for a woman who had two wonderful children, and I loved every moment with them. I have experience teaching music to the children of Lakeside Christian Academy in Morehead, Ky. from preschool-grade five once a week, as I spent my first few years at university as a music education major. Having decided upon a different route, I spent the last few years at Morehead receiving further education in music and have the ability to teach voice-lesson as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love music and adventure. It's important to me that children get time to be creative and explore. Because of this, I've spent five years studying music and now have the ability to teach and play music with children! Daily walks, or walks other day, are part of our day with the children who are old enough to do so. I am also a proficient baker and greatly enjoy taking time to bake treats with the children in my care.

Assisting children as they grow in mind and spirit. Getting to see life through a childs eyes is incredibly rewarding, and I love encouraging their excitement for the world!

The most important part about being a nanny...

A few years ago I was playing pretend with one of the boys in my care at the time. He loved playing superhero games and pretending we were all sorts of mythical creatures. One day while playing he pretended to throw a "magic potion" on me that would freeze me because I was the bad guy that time. As soon as I said, "ow" he completely froze and then grabbed my hand and looked at me with so much concern. "Are you okay, Miss Summer?" he'd asked. Of course I explained to him that I was only pretending, but it was such a sweet and endearing moment that warmed me right to the bone.
