A little bit about me

Children have been such an important part of my life. When I was a teenager, I was the main babysitter in my wonderful neighborhood. The children loved me because I always had a lot of games to play, read to them, and helped them with their homework. I am an educator who has worked with preschoolers to senior high school students. I was in the classroom and I did more than my share of extra-curricular activities because it was my goal to help children and young people find out who they are and who they could grown up to be. I also have done foster care a number of times and it was a wonderful experience for me. I seem to make a lot of young friends when I am out and about at group gatherings. The children always run to me and introduce themselves and ask if I want to play games with them. They grab onto me like I am a friend or a great aunt or a grandmother.
I am going to work on my CPR certification before getting employed. I have had to pump some chests in my life.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a teacher. I was also involved in 4-H growing up and was a junior leader to children younger than myself. I love children! They mean overything to me because I care so much!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I play indoor and out door games with children and I often play the same games they play with each other when they get together. I love music and I can help children with their music if they are learning or in school bands. I love exploring with children. Conversation are essential to have with children,

The most important part about being a nanny...

I just want to mention here that I have to bring up to date my first aid. I needed that to be a teacher. As I mentioned before I have used CPR in a couple of situations and need to update my certification. I am a positive person and I love to display the posivitiy all of the time. I have been real good at helping children work through there negative issues in a positive way. I jalways want to be the best at making sure children have good lives.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a minor degree in special education. It was very important for me to pursue that after I had taught for a few years. I worked with the students as paart of my teaching job. They were in the same classrooms as the rest of the children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My "nanny" moments were with foster care. My favorite moments are when those children hug me like I am one of the most important people in their lives. I have taken care of the same children over and over again because of problems their mother had with her life. I am still in touch with a couple of the children who are growing up fast. I visitedthem before I moved from the Pacific Northwest to Florida. The beutiful Bella and Memory gave me the biggest hiug I ever had so I knew I made a difference in their lives.
