More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a nanny for a family of 3 children for 4 years and then another family of 4 children for 3 years, and have also worked with special needs children both in the home and at school where I was an aide and teacher's assistant.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Music, arts and crafts, education, quite literally anything outdoors, reading, singing, dress up, tea parties, lightsaber battles... you name it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the children are safe, engaged and happy at all times! Certainly being kids, they're not always in the best of moods, but I find it so, so rewarding when I'm able to bring the smiles back to their adorable little faces:)
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for 4 different children with special needs, including two toddlers at home and two middle school age children in the classroom. I have experience with children with autism, epilepsy, blindness/deafness, and many other types of differently-abed children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My all time favorite moment with a child was the day their parents, who were out of town, had a pair of color blindness glasses delivered to the house for their child who is unable to see more than a few basic colors. Getting to see and capture the moment on video for the parents of the child's awe and amazement of the world around him made me cry like a baby, it was such a beautiful moment that really cemented the fact that being a nanny is the best job in the entire world:)
