I have years of experience working with children of all ages, including a long-term substitute teacher position in a 1st-grade classroom, a camp counselor, and a lead teacher at the Boys and Girls Club. I'm passionate about helping kids grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a teacher at the Stateline Boys and Girls Club for 2 years. I have also been a lead camp counselor for many years. I had field experience hours all throughout college, including doing full-time student teaching in 1st grade. My most recent experience has been substituting in a 1st grade classroom.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging kids in a variety of fun and meaningful activities! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, reading stories, and playing learning games that build early literacy and math skills. I also enjoy getting outside for games, nature walks, or sidewalk chalk fun. Whether we’re building with Legos, dancing to music, or just talking about their day, I enjoy activities that help kids express themselves, grow in confidence, and feel cared for.

The most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting, supportive relationship with the child and their family. Children thrive when they feel safe, loved, and understood, so I prioritize creating a positive environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. Being a reliable, patient, and nurturing presence helps children grow emotionally, socially, and academically—and that’s the heart of the job for me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with a variety of special needs, including autism, speech apraxia, and emotional/behavioral challenges. During my student teaching, I created individualized supports like visual cue cards and calm-down strategies to help students communicate and succeed. I’ve also worked with children from diverse and sometimes difficult home environments, and I always strive to be patient, consistent, and understanding to help every child feel safe and supported.
