Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Back in high school, I regularly babysat for my neighbors and for families in my apartment complex—often on short notice. I also come from a big family, so growing up, I was always helping take care of my younger siblings, cousins, and family friends. There were even times I’d stay overnight to watch them while my aunts or uncles were away. Because of that, I have lots of hands-on experience with children, especially between the ages of 3 and 10. I’m responsible, patient, and always make sure kids are safe while having fun.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some of my favorite activities to do with children include arts and crafts, playing games (both indoor and outdoor), reading books together, and coming up with fun, creative activities to keep them engaged. I also enjoy helping with homework and finding ways to make learning fun. If the weather’s nice, I love getting kids outside for fresh air and active play, whether it’s at the park or just a game of tag. I always try to match the energy and interests of each child to make sure they’re having a great time!

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and nurturing environment for the children. Kids need someone who’s not only reliable and responsible, but also patient, kind, and genuinely present. It’s about being someone they feel comfortable with, who supports their growth, encourages their imagination, and makes them feel cared for. Building a strong relationship with both the child and their family is key, and I always do my best to be someone parents can depend on and kids can look up to.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching two siblings, ages 4 and 7, and we built a blanket fort in their living room on a rainy day. We spent hours reading books inside it, pretending it was our secret hideout, and even had a little “picnic” with snacks. At bedtime, the younger one gave me a big hug and said it was the best day ever—which completely melted my heart. Moments like that remind me why I love working with kids so much—it’s the little things that mean the most to them and to me.
