I have been watching children since my siblings were born! I've practicaly raised my 4 younger siblings. I, then, began watching my neice, nephew, and babies of friends. Seeing a new passion, I began at Albany State University where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I picked up a part-time job as a daycare assistant in Union City and worked there for 2 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to introduce kids to educational games so that they have fun while learning. I also often bring arts and crafts because kids express themselves through being creative.
For children who enjoy the outdoors, I often challenge them to races or take them to nearby family parks (of course, with the approval of the parent/guardian).

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is establishing a genuine relationship with the family. I want the family to feel comfortable. It's so important that parents know who their children are going to be with and it's just as imperative that I don't feel like a stranger to the kids, but more like an addition to the family.
My experience with special needs children...
I have only had experience with one child with autism. I found this out before hand and I sat down with his mom to learn the schedules he's used to, the things that trigger him, things that made him feel better or express himself and it was actually a great learning experience for me. I still facetime with him and his mom sometimes!
