I love reading to kids and having them read along so that it’s an interactive experience. Painting and drawing is something I like as well. I’m big on walks/ going to the park, lots of athletic activities. On occasion going somewhere fun, incorporating small trips here and there
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being consistently present, interactive and engaged with my kids. I also believe that in addition to the parents a nanny should (with parents permission) open the kids up to the world. In my experience, exposing them to different things that they may like or dislike helps in creating an enriching environment as well as help them develop into well rounded people.
My experience with special needs children...
I have taken care of a child with autism for 5 years since he was an infant as well as a special needs adult for sometime.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When my 10 week old infant held his head up for 8 minutes during tummy time (we did 3-5 minutes every day). I love watching babies grow and develop the skills they need to be successful. A close second was when my 1 year old understood my name and as I walked in I could hear him “running” ( shuffling) very fast down the steps to then run and give me a hug while also saying my name repeatedly
