A little bit about me

I am an experienced nanny and childcare provider with over 15 years of experience caring for children of all ages. As the oldest of seven siblings, I began babysitting at the age 12, which sparked a lifelong passion for nurturing and guiding children. From 2012 to 2016, I served as a custodial guardian for the State of South Carolina, caring for five children ages 4 to 16. This strengthened my skills in structure, routine, and meeting the emotional needs of children from diverse backgrounds. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with Montessori-based experience. I also have experience working with children with autism and cerebral palsy. In May 2020, I founded Tye’s Tiny Tots Childcare LLC, an in-home childcare program located in Aiken SC. I am currently located in downtown Decatur and plan to reopen my in-home daycare by Fall 2026. I am actively seeking nanny and babysitting opportunities in the meantime ☺️

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I use a creative, play-based curriculum where everyday activities are turned into fun learning opportunities. With infants, I enjoy tummy time, sensory play, and stroller walks that support early development. With toddlers and preschool-age children, I incorporate sing-alongs, early writing practice, arts and crafts, puzzles, and interactive games. I enjoy teaching through guided play and hands-on activities designed to capture children’s attention, build focus, and encourage curiosity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is seeing a child grow, learn, and blossom every day. I love creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children feel supported, valued, and encouraged. Watching them explore, discover, and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding, and being part of their journey is truly my passion.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with cerebral palsy, autism, and ADD/ADHD, as well as children who have experienced trauma and require therapeutic support. I take a patient, individualized approach and focus on meeting each child where they are developmentally and emotionally.
I have successfully worked alongside speech therapists, physical therapists, and other service providers within a childcare setting to support children’s growth. I am also experienced in cooperating with social workers and other professionals when evaluations or additional support are needed, always prioritizing the child’s well-being and partnering with families to help them access appropriate resources.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Owning an in-home daycare has given me so many amazing experiences with children and families. One of my favorite moments was when a family I had previously nannied for reached out after I opened my daycare. Reuniting with the child and seeing their excitement was incredibly special. That child stayed with me for two years, and last Christmas, the family surprised my husband and me by asking us to be his godparents. Being part of his life almost every day and sharing in his growth and activities has been one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of my childcare career.
