Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have almost a decades worth of experience in childcare starting out as a Recreation Leader with the Town of Manchester's Recreation Department, working my way up to the role of a Recreation Supervisor. I managed a small group of trainees for the summer & operated out of Charter Oak park, Mahoney Recreation Center and Bennet Recreation Center organizing and hosting town wide events over the course of my 7 years with them. I stepped away from my role to become a Toddler Teacher with BrightPath for a little over a year (formerly Educational Playcare), desiring a more hands-on role with children & education. I hope to be able to demonstrate the education and experience i’ve gained!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely love anything arts and crafts. I love to create & explore children’s personalities through the art they create. I also enjoy listening to music, watching any and everything that can keep my attention, and reading. I can get quite animated during story time. I also have baking/pastry experience & love demonstrating safe & healthy kitchen experiences.
My experience with special needs children...
In my past experience throughout my years in childcare, I’ve worked in spaces with special needs children but never directly one-on-one as I do not possess the requirements to care for the children. Although I lack that, I’ve always ensured a safe, inclusive & welcoming environment to every child that has walked through my center’s or classroom’s door.
