When I was younger I would help care for a friend’s younger sister who didn’t get to socialize with other children as much at home. She was about 8 years old at the time. After about a month of spending nearly everyday going to the park, going on walks, playing inside with the other kids, she looked up at me and said, “We are pretty much like family now, huh?” And it immediately melted my heart and made me feel like I was making a change in her life.
