Connecting to the kids in a way that helps both them and me, it helps them stay emotionally regulated by being able to communicate what they need from me. It helps me be able to get to know what they need before they ask and be able to teach them according to their learning styles.

My experience with special needs children...

My own child age 4 was born at 24 weeks, at 11.3 oz so I learned how to provide 24/7 NICU for a child with oxygen, pulse ox, and a G-Tube. Along with administering 7+ medications through G-Tube, still keeping a house, and making sure he made every doctors appointment with his 9 doctors.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Caring for the children at the daycare I work for now has been amazing, I love to get down to the kids level and communicate with them. I do this so that they feel comfortable with telling me what they need from me and also understand their learning styles to better teach them.
