One of my favorite nanny moments happened one evening when I was helping the kids get ready for bed. After brushing their teeth, we sat on the floor to do a quick round of bedtime stories. The youngest, who usually didn’t talk much, suddenly crawled into my lap, hugged me tightly, and whispered, “You’re my best friend.” It was such a sweet, unexpected moment that made all the busy, sometimes chaotic days so worth it.
