More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a pre-school and 2 year old teacher for a year and a half prior to working as a 2 year old teacher here in Fenton. I've also worked with elementary aged students as well since we had a summer program for those children who didn't attend summer school. I have a very big family with many little cousins and a nephew who is 2, so it comes naturally when taking care of these children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to be active as much as I can! Making crafts, playing outside, dancing and singing. Those are just some of the things I love to do. I also like to go on trips to fun places like The Magic House, swimming, the park, and much more!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Attending and taking care of these children as if they were my own. To have a close bond with the children I come into contact with. Also, to help teach and be a role model for those children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most memorable moment would be when one of the 2 year olds in my class had been struggling with words and speach. The parents and I had set up a plan to have the boy strive for one word a week. Our first week in trying this new plan we set the word to be ball. So I would take this student and during class time we'd sit on the floor and roll the ball back and forth, and with each time we rolled the ball I would say the word "ball". For the first 2 days you could tell he wanted to say it he just couldn't figure out how to get it out and he needed some time to understand it fully. The next day we go to sit down to roll the ball back and forth and the very first time he rolls that ball to me I hear him say "ball". That right there was one of my most memorable and proudest moments as a teacher. The little boy went the rest of the day wanting to roll the ball back and forth just so he could say the word over and over again.
